Pakistan is expanding its search for a fifth-generation fighter jet. After considering China’s J-35A, Pakistan is now in talks with Turkey to potentially acquire the KAAN fighter jet. During the recent Pak-Turk Industrial Expo Joint Working Group meeting, representatives from both countries discussed defense cooperation, including the possible export of Turkey’s KAAN jet to the Pakistani Air Force (PAF). The discussions also covered the design and co-development of a new helicopter.
Pakistan and Turkey have a history of defense collaboration, and the potential deal for the KAAN jet is part of this growing partnership. While Pakistan is also considering China’s J-35, the country aims to modernize its air force and strengthen its defense capabilities. The outcome of these discussions remains uncertain, but Pakistan’s interest in advanced military technology continues to grow.
