Political Leaders Urged to Unite Amidst Pakistan’s Economic and Political Crisis

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has called for unity among political leaders to address the country’s ongoing economic and political challenges. Speaking after a meeting with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) negotiation committee, Ashraf emphasized the need for a new charter of democracy and a consensus to overcome the prevailing uncertainty.

Ashraf highlighted the positive atmosphere of the current negotiations and revealed that PTI has demanded the release of workers and the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 and November 26 events. He stressed the importance of dialogue for national stability and expressed hope for future collaboration among political stakeholders.

The government and PTI have held two rounds of negotiations, with National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq facilitating the discussions. The talks come in the wake of PTI’s announcement of a civil disobedience movement if their demands are not met.
