President Zardari Honors Martyrs on Defence Day

ISLAMABAD  – On Defence and Martyrs’ Day (Sept 6), President Asif Ali Zardari paid tribute to the Ghazis and Shuhada who made significant sacrifices to defend Pakistan against external threats.

In his message, President Zardari highlighted the nation’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty. He praised the courageous individuals who thwarted the enemy’s attempts to harm Pakistan.

“Our Armed Forces remain vigilant and ready to respond to any threats to national sovereignty and territorial integrity. They are well-equipped and possess the necessary professional skills and determination to protect the country,” he stated.

President Zardari also emphasized the importance of regional peace and stability, advocating for peaceful coexistence with neighboring countries. He stressed that lasting peace can only be achieved by addressing the plight of the Kashmiri people and urged India to comply with the UN Security Council’s resolutions that guarantee the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

He acknowledged the current security challenges facing Pakistan, noting that hostile nations support anti-Pakistan elements to carry out terrorist activities. He assured that the armed forces and law enforcement agencies are fully prepared to combat terrorism and that the nation stands united behind them.

On this day, President Zardari called for the nation to remember the determination, patriotism, and spirit of Pakistan’s valiant sons, reaffirming the nation’s unwavering support for the armed forces in their sacred duty to defend the country. He concluded by praying for Allah’s protection and guidance towards peace and prosperity for Pakistan.
