President Calls for Global Support on Kashmiris’ Right to Self-Determination

On the 76th anniversary of the UN resolution advocating for a free plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir, President Asif Ali Zardari reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. He urged the international community to uphold international law and support the Kashmiri people’s legitimate aspirations.

President Zardari condemned India’s long-standing denial of this right and the systemic brutalities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), especially since the unilateral actions of August 5, 2019. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom.

As Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control observe Right to Self-Determination Day, various events, including rallies, seminars, and conferences, are being held to remind the United Nations of its obligation to resolve the Kashmir dispute and end the suffering of Kashmiris under Indian oppression.
