RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has criticized the non-political opposition, calling it the biggest obstacle to political stability in the country. Addressing party workers and supporters via video link on PPP’s 57th foundation day, Bilawal emphasized the need for all political parties to return to the political sphere to ensure economic stability.
Bilawal accused major opposition parties, particularly the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), of engaging in agitational politics. He stressed that both the opposition and the government are responsible for ensuring stability in the country, either through dialogue or force if necessary.
He urged the non-political opposition to adopt democratic norms, warning that their continued disruptive behavior would harm both themselves and the country. This statement came after PTI’s recent protests in Islamabad, which led to violent clashes resulting in casualties among security personnel and protesters.
Bilawal also addressed rumors about the imposition of governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating that any such decision should be made through mutual consultation. He criticized the federal government’s agricultural policies, warning that they could lead to the economic downfall of farmers.
Highlighting the sacrifices made by the army, police, and political leadership in combating terrorism, Bilawal called for a new action plan to address the resurgence of terrorism in Sindh, Balochistan, and Islamabad. He concluded by stressing the need for political parties and institutions to work together to steer the country out of crisis.
